Is this the best designed tower computer interior of the last 20 years?
(refurbishing my 2012 beauty with a firmware mod before finding a new loving home for it)
I miss mine. When I found out that a 2 year old Mini was more powerful than my 2x Xeon Pro, I finally had to get rid of it.
@ethanschoonover Pretty great (I also have one, in a box in the basement). Probably better that the blue-and-white predecessor for any number of reasons, but I preferred the aesthetics of the B&W, and the handles on the B&W were *way* more comfortable. :)
Too big for me to leave out for display; I don't really have space to display even the G4 cube, as much as I'd like to. Same problem with my NeXT stuff, which I'd *really* love to have out.
I'm curious about the point of the firmware mod.
@andrewabernathy firmware to update to a more modern macos release. i might just let it go to a new home without doing that after dropping a fresh OS install on it
@ethanschoonover I loved opening up one of those suckers whenever I had to do so.
@alpha amazing to me that after many many years in use it's still 100% in alignment on all mechanical parts. the chassis is such a work of art.
