💯 agree. I think you shouldn’t be allowed to profit off selling land. (Improvements to what’s on the land, sure, but not from the plot of real estate.) Also am definitely interested in Georgism as a thing too.

@alpha kind of a depressing read tbh. It's much the same problem in Australia. The only slight reform we've had here was done in NSW to allow for a land tax rather than stamp duty (but this might be undone after the current state election) - but nothing about increasing density and hence supply. Given that housing is treated as an investment (rightly or wrongly) it seems that the only way is to increase supply to at least equal population growth (to keep prices from falling and hurting mortgagees and rising too much and hurting those wanting to enter the market)?
